Campus Safety Community Liaison Officer, Mark Hargreaves (L) presents Residence Fellow Amnesty Cornelius with the Residence Safety Award

The Campus Safety Services presented its first Monthly Residence Fellow Safety Award during a ceremony held on Friday Oct. 4, 2013.

The award is presented to a Residence Fellow, who is nominated by their peers, for going above and beyond for the safety and security of Carleton University’s on-campus housing community. The first award was presented to Prescott House’s seventh level Residence Fellow, Amnesty Cornelius.

Once Amnesty located the student she notified Campus Safety and provided first aid until Campus Safety Officers arrived. Amnesty’s actions ensured th

at the student received proper medical attention without delay.

David Sterritt, Director, Housing and Conference Services, was on hand for the presentation. “This award demonstrates the outstanding work our Residence Fellows do every day” Sterritt said.

The Campus Safety Services would like to congratulate Amnesty on this award and thank all the Residence Fellows who work tersely to ensure Carleton University Residence remains a safe place to reside.
