Charges laid in connection to two on-campus thefts

The Ottawa Police Service have charged a male, who has no affiliation to Carleton University, in relation to two on-campus thefts.

The first theft, which occurred in the Physical Recreation Centre, was reported to the Campus Safety Services (CCS) on Jul. 15, 2013. The second theft (the theft of two mobile phones), was reported to CCS on Oct. 11, 2013.

Both thefts were jointly investigated by the Campus Safety Services and the Ottawa Police Service. The male was ultimately identified via Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera footage.

The Campus Safety Services would like to remind the community to never leave rooms or offices unsecured when unoccupied and to never leave items unattended.
