On July 28 2014, the Campus Safety Services received a report of the theft of a backpack from the fifth level study area located on the South/East side of the MacOdrum Library, facing the Academic Quad.

An individual who was using the fifth level study space had left their bag unattended for approximately 15 minutes. Upon returning to the study space it was noted that the bag was missing. Several valuable items had been left in the backpack including an Apple iPhone and iPad as well as personal credit cards.

The Campus Safety Services reminds all staff and students not to leave any valuables unattended for any period of time.

The investigation is on-going and a copy of the report was forwarded to the Ottawa Police Service.
