Mohamed Ibnkahla has been named the NSERC/Cisco Industrial Research Chair (IRC) in Sensor Networks for the Internet of Things (IoT).

It is projected that the IoT will connect billions of objects and devices. These new connections are expected to impact both business models and our personal lives. Prof. Ibnkahla’s work will study algorithms, architectures and communications protocols that will enable real-world deployment and easy adoption of IoT systems in applications like smart buildings, smart grids, energy management, safety and urban traffic management.
