Professor Aaron Doyle gave the closing lecture Friday on Zoom to the II International Congress of Insurance Law, organized by the Brazilian Institute of Insurance Law in Sao Paulo. The lecture, which examined the diverse ways the vast operations of insurance companies contribute to global climate inequality, built on a newly published chapter, "The Contradictory Roles of the Insurance Industry in the Era of Climate Change," which Aaron co-authored with Sociology PhD graduate Mathieu Charbonneau for the edited collection Criminology and Climate: Insurance, Finance, and the Production of Harmscapes.
