Carleton anthropology wasn’t just a degree program, it was a community space charged with collegiality and critical thinking across disciplines and years of study. My relationship with Marxism in particular flourished because of the interdisciplinary nature of the degree, something which I believe is quite unique to the program. I learned so much thanks to our small cohorts and the openness of our professors to cultivate our intellectual curiosity out of the gate. Some of the friendships I made at Carleton continue to hold strong even today, over 15 years later.
