CHEM Matters
CHEM Matters is a one-week, optional chemistry program held from August 29th to September 2nd. It is open to anyone entering their first year in the Faculty of Science that will be taking CHEM 1001. CHEM Matters is designed as a refresher course that reviews students’ fundamental knowledge of key chemistry concepts to better prepare them for CHEM 1001. The cost for the program is $150 including HST.

MATH Matters Program
MATH Matters
MATH Matters is a one-week, optional math program held from August 22nd-26th. It is open to anyone entering their first year of Architectural Studies, Commerce, Computer Science, Economics, Engineering, Health Sciences, Industrial Design, International Business, Information Technology, Mathematics, and Science. MATH Matters is designed as a refresher course that reviews students’ fundamental knowledge of key math concepts to better prepare them for first-year math courses. The cost for the program is $250 including HST, and it includes in-person lectures, knowledge evaluation tests, access to a textbook, study groups with an upper-year student, access to small classrooms to interact with peers, and a designated Study Group Leader.
Similar to last year, there is a no-cost option, MATH4U, for students who prefer independent learning or do not need as much help with their math basics. Every first-year student in the programs listed above will be able to access the online lecture content and diagnostics tests in August on Brightspace.
