Abstract: Very low birth weight infants are susceptible to many morbidities that have both short-term and lifelong consequences. Strategies that reduce the incidence of these morbidities both improve health outcomes and reduce healthcare costs. This talk will summarize research that we have conducted about the relationship between human milk, health outcomes, and healthcare costs.
