The Galapagos Islands, Ecuador; adventures in evolution, biogeography, and insects
Stewart Peck, Department of Biology Carleton University
The Galapagos Islands are well known for both the insight they gave to Charles Darwin on the “origin of species” and as the home of an interesting and special suite of plants and animals. My talk will introduce some of these and will present a summary of exploration and adventure (with the help of several Carleton students) in a 15 year program of research on the insects of the islands.
