Anthony Galipeau

2021 BPAPM Graduate

Degrees:BPAPM, Specialization in Strategic Public Opinion and Policy Analysis

We asked Anthony Galipeau, one of our newest graduates of the PAPM program to tell us more about his experience in the program and his plans for the future. Anthony graduated from the program on June 18, 2021 with a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management. Anthony specialized in Strategic Public Opinion and Policy Analysis.

What led you to choose a degree in PAPM? I wanted to seek a career in the public service, and wanted a degree that would equip me with the best chance for transformative policymaking.

What were the highlights of your experience? Definitely the end of year galas. It was a great time to take in the end of the year with some of the funniest, smartest, and most driven people I know.

What did you learn that you found most important? That there isn’t one golden way to do policymaking. It’s equal part art and science, and that a change in perspective can make a world’s difference on a policy’s meaning and impact.

What advice would you give to students who are thinking about joining the BPAPM program? Don’t overthink the program. Your goals and values are just as worthy as any other student in PAPM. If you stick to what you want, you’ll find the exact community and resources you need to succeed.

What’s next for you? I will be beginning a Masters in International Affairs at Carleton University, with the hopes of pursuing a career in the foreign service upon graduation.
