Najia Haneefi (B.A., M.Ed. University of Ottawa) is featured in today’s print version of the Ottawa Citizen and the online version for her community and philanthropic work. In the article titled “Q & A: Ottawa’s Najia Haneefi talks about education, gender equality and Afghanistan” Najia shares her experiences as a founding member of the Ottawa chapter of Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan, which aims to provide gender equitable quality education and work towards improving human rights conditions in Afghanistan.
In addition to her philanthropic work Najia has worked as the Graduate Administrator in the Department of Economics for the past 3 years, helping students in our graduate programs from the time they apply to our programs until graduation and beyond. We are incredibly proud of Najia and all of her accomplishments!
