The Centre for Monetary and Financial Economics at the Department of Economics presents a two-day OCGSE workshop called MATLAB Part 2 with Mikel Casares, Full Professor in the Department of Economics at the Universidad Pública de Navarra in Spain.

Days: June 14th from 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm

AND June 15th from 10:30 am – 2:30 pm

Location: Dr. Kanta Marwah Seminar Room (Loeb D-880)

Audience: this workshop is intended for PhD students in Economics, but MA students and 4th year students are also welcome.

Participants need to bring a laptop with MATLAB and Dynare installed on it to this workshop.

This course describes the canonical New Keynesian (NK) model and its extensions to the well-known Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) models. Both theoretical foundations and computational methods are examined, with applications to obtain the numerical solution form and to run model simulations in Dynare. The mini-course also shows how to conduct Bayesian estimations of the model parameters using observed series from macroeconomic data.
