Summer Campus Access Changes – Campus Avenue Watermain Replacement
As part of a project to complete critical water main work, Campus Avenue has been reduced to one lane. Construction will continue for the duration of the summer and into the fall term.
Updates
Traffic control and fencing has been put in place on Campus Ave. as part of the Watermain Replacement project, with one lane reduction taking effect. The current one-lane closure will extend down Campus Ave. between Rideau House and the Nicol Building. Library Road will remain open and will be accessible from Campus Ave.
Construction has started and will continue over the months to come.
Drivers and pedestrians will be able to travel south on Campus Ave. but may experience delays. Please obey all flag people and updated signage.
During the construction period, workers will be onsite between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. during business days.
There will be noise during these times. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this period.
Bus Stop Relocation
On Aug. 10, 2026, the bus stops on Campus Ave. will temporarily move for approximately three weeks as part of the Watermain Replacement project. The stop for routes 2, 7 and 111 will be on Raven Road next to the National Wildlife Resource Centre, while the stop for route 7 will be on University Drive near the Maintenance Building. FMP appreciates your cooperation.
Regular updates will be provided as the work progresses. This project is taking place as part of the Summer 2026 Campus Access Changes.
