Call for applications now open for WDO’s Young Designers Circle
With the goal of harnessing the creativity and ambition of the next generation of design leaders, WDO is now accepting applications for our 2023-2025 Young Designers Circle!
Working collaboratively and independently over a 2-year term, the Young Designers Circle is an honourary committee consisting of two groups : YDC Contributors and YDC Collaborators.
| YDC Contributors are within the first 8 years of their design focus
These are designers building their personal identity and focus within design, working on impactful projects to develop their perspective and voice within the design community. |

Criteria
- Undergraduate students, or
- 1-4 years post graduation, working in industry
- 20-26 years old
Selected participants will:
- Collaborate with other young designers around the world
- Work on one key YDC project
- Connect with WDO Members
- Participate in mentoring sessions with WDO stakeholders
- Contribute one collaborative thought piece for WDO’s online platforms

YDC Collaborators are pursuing their first leadership roles within the design field
These are designers working to develop thought leadership and manage diverse projects through a lens of inspiration to transform their team or company. |
Criteria
- Graduate students, or
- 7-10 years post graduation, working in industry
- 27-35 years old
Selected participants will:
- Collaborate with other young designers around the world
- Lead two key YDC projects
- Connect with WDO Members
- Lead monthly mentoring sessions with WDO stakeholders
- Contribute two collaborative thought pieces for WDO’s online platforms
- Participate in three media appearances
