As part of the June update deployment to CUNET workstations, ITS will be updating the web browsers installed on faculty and staff desktops.
Specifically:
• Google Chrome will be updated to the latest version, which is currently 34.
• Mozilla Firefox will be updated to the latest version, which is currently 29.
• Microsoft Internet Explorer will be updated to version 9.
Faculty and staff members who have already updated to Internet Explorer versions beyond 9 will not be downgraded.
Departments that are dependent on Internet Explorer 8 are encouraged to test their applications with Internet Explorer 9. Please contact the ITS Service Desk for assistance in this regard.
The schedule to apply these upgrades will coincide with the application of security updates. Users will be able to apply the updates manually via the Software Center application, or wait until the deadline of Monday, June 23 at 6 p.m. when they will be applied automatically.
