To further enhance information security at Carleton University, the Virtual Private Network (VPN) is being placed behind multi-factor authentication (MFA) on Monday, Nov. 7, 2022.
On and after this date, users connecting to the VPN, either remotely or on campus, will need to first authenticate via using MFA before logging in with the Cisco AnyConnect VPN client.
This change will impact users of faculty and staff-facing systems that require an encrypted VPN connection, including:
- Network drives (W, V, P)
- Travel & Expense workflow
- INB Banner (e.g. Banner Forms)
- Remote Desktop
- Staging website backends
