ITS is proud to launch its Year in Review for 2021/22, available now at Carleton.ca/its-year-in-review. We are pleased to present this report showcasing some of our achievements and undertakings in the last fiscal year.

Looking back at ITS’s efforts and successes over the last year, four main themes begin to emerge:

  • COVID-19 and Resilience,
  • Academic and Learning Support,
  • Collaboration and Communication,
  • and Security and Infrastructure.

Highlights of the past fiscal year include ITS’s work in bringing cuScreen to life, which not only helped Carleton align with Ontario’s COVID-19 rules and regulations, but also sparked a major technological shift for the university.

Another high-water mark is ITS’s role in introducing and supporting Microsoft Teams, a 2019 development that paid dividends when working from home became the new normal due to COVID-19.

It doesn’t end there. We also have fantastic stories about how ITS supported Carleton’s Brightspace transition; our support of researchers with a new purchase of graphics processing units (GPUs); our new Digital Strategic and Operating Framework; our ongoing training and support efforts; our initiatives to combat phishing; and our expanding network footprint.

“I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all that the ITS Team has accomplished in 2021/22 as we work to achieve our goals and support Carleton’s Strategic Integrated Plan,” said Marc Dabros, Associate Vice-President (ITS) and Chief Information Officer (CIO).

We’ll be unveiling these stories on social media over a period of weeks, so follow along on Twitter using the hashtag #ITSYearinReview. Thanks for reading!
