Carleton has brought its email game to a new level with the recent licensing of Campaign Monitor. Officially launched in Fall 2022, Campaign Monitor is a user-friendly, email marketing software that is used to conveniently broadcast email content in bulk.

Campaign Monitor and Carleton

Campaign Monitor fulfills the university’s need for a modern, professional email system to support internal and external email campaigns. Its consistent and adaptable email templates are suitable for all kinds of users in the Carleton community. It has successfully met all of Carleton’s procurement, legal and security reviews, paving the way for integration with the university’s enterprise resource planning system via an Application Programming Interface (API).

What are the Features?

Campaign Monitor is simple to navigate but packed with advanced features. The platform is inherently WYSIWYG, or “what you see is what you get”, meaning that users can create and edit an email without code and in a way that resembles its appearance as a finished product.

Campaign Monitor also has a broad library of email templates, supplied with various themes and layouts that can be modified to incorporate Carleton’s brand. When users are satisfied with the way their content looks, they are able preview it through mobile and desktop views.

The platform also includes built-in analytical features, allowing users to track key campaign metrics like opens, click rates, bounces and more.

How is it Being Used?

Some of our community members are using the many templates designed by Carleton; others are tapping into their creative side and constructing their own. Moreover, many are making use of Campaign Monitor’s A/B testing features to boost open and click-through rates.

And users who want to take their campaigns to new heights have been tapping into the platform’s automated journey features by creating a series of emails that will be sent when triggered by specific events, dates, or subscriber activity.

Where Can I Sign Up?

Members of the Carleton community can request access using the application form on the internal Campaign Monitor site. This site also makes Carleton-specific resources about using the platform available to the community. In addition, virtual training modules about how to navigate and use the platform are available on the Campaign Monitor website.
