Microsoft’s Office 365 suite includes « extras » to enhance email communications. Some of these « extras » overlap with existing University services, and their promotion by IT would cause end-user confusion (“Which overlapping tool do I use?”) or divert IT support resources, undermining support for existing services. To strike a balance, Carleton’s IT Service Desk monitors end-user feedback. Based on this, the following Office 365 “extras” have been documented and are supported by the IT Service Desk:

The following Microsoft Office 365 « extras, » are only available as-is — they have not been documented or piloted; nor has the IT Service Desk undertaken training in their use. Hence these « extras » are not recommended for departmental business processes:
