Proceeds will support the enhancement of the Ojigkwanong Centre, “a home away from home” for many Indigenous students, and JET’s education programming. Rosenwald is a documentary film telling the story of Julius Rosenwald, a high school drop-out who rose to become the President of Sears and a prominent philanthropist. Incensed by racial inequality in America during the Jim Crow era, and inspired by the Jewish ideals of tzedakah (charity) and tikkun olam (repairing the world), Rosenwald joined forces with Africa-American communities to build over 5,300 schools.
