Dr. Tori Semple is currently the Business Strategist at the South Simcoe Police Service. She earned her PhD in Psychology from Carleton University, where she conducted her research within the Police Research Lab. Dr. Semple’s work broadly examines police response to individuals in crisis, with a particular focus on evaluating co-response models designed to improve these interactions.
Dr. Semple will co-supervise students interested in the following areas:
- Police culture and leadership
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation
- Mobile crisis response teams
- Intimate partner violence
- Hotspot and harm-focused policing
- Police legitimacy
May co-supervise at the MA level only
