CU 1001 Orientation Leaders – Paid Position
The CU 1001 Orientation Leader role is a full time paid position starting May 15th -September 8th, 2023. CU 1001 Orientation Leaders play an integral role in the implementation of CU 1001 and CU 1001 Experience Day programs designed for new students and their parent(s) to learn more about Carleton University before beginning in September.

First Year Connections Peer Mentors – Paid Position
The First Year Connections (FYC) Peer Mentor Position is a part-time paid position for September and October, with training occurring during Summer 2023. Peer Mentors play a vital role in supporting first year students during their transition to university. Each peer mentor will be assigned roughly 5 mentees whom they are required to meet with weekly for the first six weeks of the academic year. Each week, Peer Mentors facilitate guided conversations that cover key themes and subjects that will support their mentees as they continue to navigate their transition to university.

Fall Orientation Volunteer
Fall Orientation volunteers play an integral part in the delivery of the 2023 Fall Orientation programming and will receive training to support them in their roles. Volunteers can expect to assist with hosting events and connecting with new students to welcome them to the Carleton community. Students like you are extremely important to the success of the Fall Orientation program and welcoming new students to the Carleton community. An assortment of roles are available including leadership and facilitator roles.

Campus Activity Board Volunteer
The Campus Activity Board (CAB) is a student-led group that provides innovative and engaging programming to Carleton students. CAB is led by students who plan, promote, execute, and evaluate a diverse range of events and activities such as Epic Bingo, Paint Night, and much more. Volunteers can expect to assist in running these monthly events throughout the fall and winter terms.

Career Services – Carleton University’s centralized office supporting all students and alumni across the different disciplines and levels of study on their career paths.
Job Postings Portal – MySuccess is Career Services’ online resource portal that hosts Career Services’ event calendar and online job boards. Browse their online job boards to learn about and apply for on-campus, volunteer, part-time, full-time, summer, and internship opportunities. To access mySuccess, login via Carleton Central.
Work Study Program – A financial aid program funded by Carleton University. Students must apply to participate in the Work Study Program each year and be approved by the Awards Office before they can be hired.
ACT to Employ – Helps students with disabilities find paid experiential learning opportunities that align with their academic and career goals. ACT to Employ also supports students with disabilities in opportunities they have obtained independently (e.g. Co-op, Work Study, SaPP, iCUREUS, on-campus part-time jobs, external jobs, etc.).
Co-operative Education – Combines traditional, in-class education with hands-on experience. Co-op students alternate study terms at Carleton with four, eight, twelve or sixteen month work terms.
