Dexter grew up in Victoria, and lived in Vancouver for seven years before moving to Ottawa. He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of British Columbia, and since has worked in a variety of different fields, from high school special education to health promotion and health care management in East Vancouver. He eventually discovered a passion for telling stories in an accessible way, especially through photography, and is excited to apply his broad array of experiences to the field of Journalism.
Dexter brings a variety of programming and web development skills, along with a genuine love of people, their stories, and their diversity to the Carleton MJ program. In his spare time, you’ll find him hiking, surfing, paddling, camping, climbing, or just about anything you can do outdoors in the backwoods of BC.
