The AEIJM is a student-led group dedicated to informing, advising, and working with the Journalism and Media Production and Design programs at Carleton to address racism, ableism, queerphobia, transphobia and other forms of oppression and microaggressions in journalism and media education. The association’s role includes creating activities and opportunities for students and pushing for changes such as diversifying curriculum, achieving better representation at all levels of the two programs, and more. Our mission is to make our school a safe(r) space for Indigenous, Black and other students of colour, 2SLGBTQ+ students, and students with disabilities/disabled students.

The association holds regularly scheduled meetings. To stay up to date with AEIJM and their work, you can follow them on Instagram @aeijmcarleton. If you would like to learn more or if you would like to take part in the committee’s meetings and events, please email the association directly at aeijmcarleton@gmail.com.
