Kendra Perrin

Biography

Kendra is broadly interested in the role of communication in engendering and supporting social and political movements. Inspired by the growing knowledge mobilization movement and by Michael Buroway’s notion of a “public sociology,” she is curious about how strategic communications can expand the relevance and traction of sociological research, particularly amongst extra-academic audiences. Kendra is also interested in political communication, specifically in the frames, metaphors and narratives that surround public policies. She is fascinated by deep canvassing as a methodology of engagement and persuasion.
