Rebecca Mitchell

MA Student

Rebecca (she/her), a second-year M.A. student, graduated with a Bachelor of Communication and Media Studies, Minor in Women and Gender Studies from Carleton University. While doing her undergrad, Rebecca became interested in topics such as knowledge mobilization, political economy, gender politics, and discourse.

Currently, she is inspired by the literature in health communications and food communications. Although she is still in the early stages of her thesis research, she hopes to be able to contribute to these fields with her work on dominant social discourses around childhood obesity, health(ism), and the commodification of health and body.
