William Walters wins 2017 Carleton Research Achievement Award

March 3, 2017

Congratulations to William Walters who has won a 2017 Carleton Research Achievement Award. William will use the RAA to finish writing a book, The Production of Secrecy (co-authored with our Sociology PhD graduate Seantel Anais), forthcoming with Routledge. The Production of Secrecy calls for political sociology to make questions of organized concealment, absent presence and in/visibility into central concerns in studies of power and politics. Drawing on recent materialist approaches to power, and working through historical case studies, The Production of Secrecy lays out a research strategy for rethinking the covert.
