Carleton’s new Minor in Community Engagement got off to a great start when the second-year foundations course (SOCI/ANTH 2180) partnered with Community Associations for Environmental Sustainability (CAFES) in Fall 2021. Student projects focused on the City’s development of the 15-minute neighbourhood concept. You can see the results of their efforts here, as well as an article about the project in the Sandy Hill community newspaper, Image, on page 11. Instructor Dr. Deborah Conners is planning a second project with CAFES for Fall 2022, which will focus on increasing diversity in community association membership.
