Adjunct Research Professor Adnan Türegün has published a new book, entitled, “Policy Responses to the Interwar Economic Crisis: Contending Ideas of the Economy“.
In 18 diverse country cases, the book examines state economic policy during the upswing and, especially, downswing of the interwar period. It identifies broad patterns (paradigms) out of a messy reality on the ground and offers an explanation which emphasizes the ideational disposition of rulers while recognizing the context that limited what they could do.
