Congratulations to Professor Jean-Michel Landry for his recently published article in American Ethnologist

Professor Jean-Michel Landry published an article through American Ethnologist

The article, titled “Community Fashioning: Political ethics and Shi’i clerical training in Lebanon” is available to be read here.

Based on multiyear fieldwork research in South Beirut, the article looks at the training of young Muslim clerics and develops a framework for thinking about situations where ethics and politics become almost indistinguishable from one another. It was published in American Ethnologist alongside an article by Munira Khayyat, both of which were followed by commentaries by Fadi Bardawil, Sami Hermez, Maya Mikdashi, Sylvain Perdigon, and Kirsten Scheid.
