Anthropology Professor Vivian Solana Publishes New Article in American Ethnologist

Anthropology Professor Vivian Solana’s latest article, “An Imperial Meantime: The Invisible Violence of a Humanitarian Peace in Western Sahara,” has been published in American Ethnologist. The article examines the Polisario Front’s 29-year cease-fire with Morocco, exploring how humanitarian aid was used to strengthen nation-building efforts in exile. Solana also introduces the concept of an “imperial meantime.”
