What is a contract instructor?

A contract instructor (CI) is an individual hired to teach a course at Carleton University. Contract instructors are hired by the Department, and may be a CUPE 4600 Unit 2 member, a master’s or doctoral student, a postdoctoral fellow, a visiting scholar, or a qualified external applicant.
