“Carleton’s Sociology program allows students to study a broad range of topics through a unique social justice lens. During my undergrad as a Sociology student, I enrolled in a diverse set of courses that gave me the freedom to explore different interests and areas of study. Many of my professors worked closely with local organizations and advocacy groups, enlivening our lectures, and often bringing guest speakers from the Ottawa community into the classroom. With a solid disciplinary background, I became a filmmaker and writer, sharing stories of climate justice, community organizing, and sustainable urban design. Sociology is an excellent springboard to make a difference in the world!”
