Undergraduate faculty went to great lengths to keep students passionate about anthropology. Which is no small feat at the undergrad level. They would often communicate pedagogical ideas that lasted far beyond the scope of their course, and as most Anthropology students can attest I have never been at a party, without a fun fact no one in the room has heard before. Academics excelled at packaging what can be very narrow and niche aspects of their personal research, into very accessible and illustrative course content.
