“The time I spent in the Sociology PhD program at Carleton was an immensely rewarding and formative experience. The Department of Sociology and Anthropology’s reputation for having a welcoming and supportive environment is the main reason I chose it. The faculty and staff have a sincere desire to see people succeed. Students in the PhD program have the opportunity to develop their own research with full support from a knowledgeable and accessible faculty, like my supervisor Dr. Alexis Shotwell. In addition, my fellow graduate students were extremely encouraging and inspirational, providing intellectual and emotional support throughout. I want to express my deepest gratitude to the Department for providing me a wonderful experience and preparing me professionally for my future academic career.”
