“Doing my MA through the SOC/ANTH Department taught me about independence and critical thinking. The faculty, staff, and classmates constantly challenged me to think critically and to make decisions based on my project. Now, more than a year after graduating, I’ve been able to tap into a new saying ‘stay in your own lane’. It’s so easy to see classmates complete their degrees sooner or later than you, apply for scholarships and receive them when you may not, and overall just have a different experience. That is ok. This is your project and your degree. You’re responsible for developing it for you, at your own pace.”
