“I did my PhD in sociology at Carleton (specializing in Foucault, social theory, and political sociology) between 2001 and 2008. I had a remarkable opportunity to work with Alan Hunt as my supervisor for which I’m immensely grateful. The generosity of spirit and collegiality between the faculty and graduate students has had a lasting impact on me, and it is something I try to emulate at UWindsor. There are also many impressive graduates of the Carleton sociology PhD that I keep in touch with and learn from especially Drs. Kelly Gorkoff, Heidi Rimke and Chris Powell. Most of all though, I’m grateful that Carleton supported the kind of theoretical research I was interested in doing.”
