Optimizing the conservation of migratory species over their full annual cycle

April 15, 2019

Assistant Professor Joe Bennett and Liber Ero Fellow Richard Schuster published a paper in Nature Communications on conservation of migratory species at a continental scale.

This was modeled on the distributions of 117 migratory bird species across their full annual cycle from breeding to non-breeding ranges, and used linear programming to choose the best possible sites to prioritized to help conserve their populations.
