CONTRACT INSTRUCTOR POSITION

Pursuant to Article 16 of the CUPE 4600 (unit 2) Agreement, and subject to budgetary approval, the following course is open for competition.

FYSM 1002 [1.0 credit]
Social Impact of Transformation in the Post-Communist Era
Political, economic and social changes that have accompanied the collapse of the Berlin Wall. The role of society in these political upheavals and the impact of the end of the Cold War on reform in Western and developing countries.

This course is a first-year seminar that meets over the Fall and Winter semesters. Preference will be given to those who focus on the following fields: energy; the environment; and civil society.

Applicants for this position should be advanced PhD students or have a PhD in a relevant discipline and relevant areas of expertise and teaching experience.  A course outline, CV, summary of teaching experience and, if possible, evaluations of previous courses, as well as two letters of recommendation should be sent directly to EURUS director Jeff Sahadeo at jeff_sahadeo@carleton.ca or EURUS, Carleton University, 1125 Colonel By Drive, Ottawa, Ont.
