The Canada-Europe Transatlantic Dialogue is pleased to announce two youth internship opportunities:
- Canada-EU Social Policy Governance 2014
-
The Canada-Europe Transatlantic Dialogue (CETD) is looking for a student intern to help organize, plan and execute a series of workshops to be held in six Canadian cities in the spring of 2014. The workshops are intended to disseminate and discuss the findings of a three year research project that directly compared Canadian and European Union (EU) approaches to social policy governance. Although this project is being managed out of the University of Victoria, we are partnering with other universities and research organizations in eastern Canada. We invite applications from students of Canadian federalism and/or European integration studying at CETD partner institutions in Montreal, Ottawa, or Victoria (i.e., the University of Montreal, McGill University, Carleton University or University of Victoria). The work would start early in 2014 and carry on for a 6 month period at a fixed compensation of $8000 covering the entire duration for up to 360 hours of work. Applications deadline is January 24, 2014.
- EU-Canada Graduate Internship (Brussels) 2014
-
Graduate students enrolled at CETD partner institutions (Carleton University, University of British Columbia, Dalhousie University, University of Montreal, McGill University, University of Victoria) are eligible to apply. The internship will commence on April 1, 2014 on a part-time basis (maximum 35 hours but may be less) and the intern shall be available for full-time duty in Brussels (and other locations visited by the Tour) from April 29 to June 20, 2014. During this time period, the intern will provide assistance in the preparation and operation of the EU Study Tour & Internship Program (EUST&IP) (May 4-24, 2013), as well as follow-up activities. The assistance provided to the EU Study Tour and Internship Program will be under the direction of the Director, EUST&IP. The full-time internship in Brussels may be followed by a two month part-time internship at the home university. Work in Canada may also include organizational and research support for activities of CETD as well as follow-up work for EUST&IP. Application deadline is February 5, 2014.
