Event description:
The COVID-19 pandemic is an example of a crisis that, because of its proportion, acuteness, and length, has determined actors from both the private and the public sector to react in an unprecedented manner. This lecture will delve into the intricacies of crisis communication amidst the pandemic, evaluating the effectiveness of governmental, heads of states, and other officials’ communication strategies. Attendees will gain insights into the specificities of crisis communication and learn from real-world case studies, conducted in Romania, France, and the United Kingdom.
About the speaker:
Dr. Delia Pop-Flanja is an Associate Professor in Communication Sciences, Department of European Studies and Governance at Babes-Bolyai University, Romania. She holds a doctorate in Philology with a thesis on Cultural Typologies and Cross-Cultural Adaptation and an MA in Intercultural Business Communication. Her research interests include intercultural communication, multilingualism, discourse analysis, crisis communication, political communication, and civil society engagement.
