A Lecture Featuring:

His Excellency, Alexander Latsabidze, Ambassador of Georgia

This special lecture features the Honourable Alexander Latsabidze, Ambassador of Georgia to Canada. Georgia and Canada established diplomatic relations in 1992. Since then, the two nations have developed a very close partnership, which resulted in the opening of the Georgian Embassy in Ottawa in 2011. His Excellency Mr. Latsabidze’s presentation will focus on Georgia’s political development, including its role in the South Caucasus and its political achievements as well as many of the challenges Georgia faces moving forward.

His Excellency, Alexander Latsabidze, Ambassador of Georgia, became Georgia’s Ambassador to Canada and a Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in September 2012. Prior to coming to Canada, Mr. Latsabidze held the distinguished position of Ambassador in the Argentine Republic, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Additionally, Mr. Latsabidze has served as a Counselor, Second Secretary and First Secretary within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, working in the Departments of Oriental Affairs as well as the Departments of Asia, Africa, Australia and the Pacific Rim. His Excellency speaks several languages, including English, Japanese, Persian and Russian.
