Abigail Evans
Abigail Evans is a graduate of the European Stream. Prior to coming to the Institute, Abigail pursued a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management at Carleton University. She was drawn to the EURUS MA program due to its small class sizes and tight-nit community feeling. Her research focused on the EU’s counterterrorism policy.
During her time in the program, Abigail participated in many experiences that she believes were formative in helping her find a career post-graduation. While at EURUS, Abigail undertook an internship at the Embassy of Ireland. She also went on the EU Study Tour, where she had the opportunity to learn about the EU hands-on, meet EU politicians and officials, and complete an internship in the EU. Abigail found that her experience at EURUS was formative because she made strong professional and personal connections, and because it allowed her to enhance skills like resume building and concise writing. Abigail has previously held positions at Public Safety and Global Affairs Canada and now works for Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada.
