The programs support officer position focuses on enhancing learning and engagement both within the department and with the broader community. Key responsibilities include increasing program visibility through strategic communications and outreach, as well as providing support for field courses, practicum/co-op opportunities, and educational development initiatives. Before taking on this position, Nika gained valuable experience as a teacher in various school boards across Ottawa and its surrounding rural areas. Additionally, in her youth, she spent several summers working for Ontario Parks as an outdoor educator and in research support roles.
