The Centre for Aboriginal Culture and Education is hosting its annual Round Dance on Saturday, February 8 from 4 to 11 in the Ravens’ Nest
This dance was a healing ceremony that became a social dance for Aboriginal people and is held in the winter season. From the first tuning of the hand drums by the fire, to the fun of meeting old friends and making new ones. We join hands in a circle and dance around the drummers and singers. The beat of the drum is like the heartbeat of the community, and everyone moves as one. It’s a dance for everyone: children, friends, families, youth and Elders. Everyone is welcome.
