In celebration of Black History Month, the ZC showed the film Shared Legacies: The African-American Jewish Civil Rights Alliance followed by a panel discussion that explored civil rights from American and Canadian perspectives. Shared Legacies emphasizes what can be achieved when communities work together. The coalition between the African and Jewish American communities in the 1960s collaborated to end racial discrimination, racial segregation and to gain equal rights for African Americans under the law.
