The department has close ties to the Centre on Values and Ethics (www.carleton.ca/cove) and the Institute of Cognitive Science (www.carleton.ca/ics), and is the administrative home of the newly established Ph.D. program in Ethics and Public Affairs (carleton.ca/ethics).

We seek an outstanding scholar with a Ph.D. in philosophy and a demonstrated potential for excellence in both teaching and research. The successful candidate will be expected to teach in the department’s undergraduate and graduate programs, develop a program of research leading to significant peer‐reviewed publications, and contribute effectively to leadership in the department.
