This past weekend, members of our department helped judge the Ontario Ethics Bowl! This annual event provides an opportunity for teams of high school students to discuss ethical dilemmas taking place at the forefront of our world. Such dilemmas might include: how we ought to deal with assisted-death, artificial intelligence, and gene editing.
Volunteers from our department included Professors Melissa Frankel & Kyla Bruff, Dr. Matthew Scarfone, and Ethics and Public Affairs (EPAF) PhD student Ann Cronin-Cossette. Many Carleton alumni also represented other departments, and a great time was had by all!
Stay tuned for a special video Spotlight article about the event coming in April.
