Carleton Degree or Certificate students may apply to study at any other accredited university on a Letter of Permission. Each course you choose to take must be approved by the Registrar’s Office.

Students participating in the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada Explore program may be able to earn credit toward their Carleton University degree upon successful completion of the Explore Program.

The International Student Services Office (ISSO) offers several summer language programs for Carleton students who are interested in studying at one of our partner institutions for several weeks in the summer term.
Please view the “International Summer Language Program Guide” (see the “Downloads” section at the bottom of this page) for information on eligibility requirements and application information. Students who believe they are meeting the requirements to participate in an International Summer Language Program and wish to apply, must submit the OUI application package following the instructions found on the ISSO website- OUI Summer Programs.
Students who have been accepted into the International Summer Language Program will be notified by the ISSO by the end of March. The Registrar’s Office will send additional information to these students regarding the process for submitting course work and transcripts from the host institution in order to determine whether students are eligible to earn Carleton credit for their summer language studies.
Upon completion and return, this material along with a completed application for International Summer Language Program Letter of Permission (see the “Downloads” section at the bottom of this page), must be submitted by October 30th of the year that the OUI Summer Language Program is completed
