Service Update
Due to the current public health crisis, pick up service is not available for diplomas at this time. All diplomas for the Winter 2021 graduates will be mailed two weeks after degrees have been awarded.
You must ensure that your mailing address in the ‘Personal Information’ section of your Carleton Central account is up to date by February15, 2021 in order to ensure that it is mailed to the correct address.
If you wish to wait until the Registrar’s Office reopens to pick up your diploma, please contact us via email at registrar@carleton.ca by February15, 2021 and we will retain your diploma for pick up at a later date.
Display diplomas are currently unavailable. Please email the Registrar’s Office at registrar@carleton.ca for more information. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Information for New Graduates
- When will my diploma be mailed out?
- Please review your current mailing address on Carleton Central and ensure it is correct by the following deadlines:
- Spring Graduation (June): May 15
- Fall Graduation (November): October 15
- Winter Graduation (February): February 15
- Notice: Diploma mail out for Spring 2020 graduates Is to be determined. You may still update your address through Carleton Central at this time.
- What if I require proof of graduation before diplomas are mailed out?

- Request an Unofficial Transcript or Certificate of Enrolment via Carleton Central.
- The Unofficial Transcript will contain a notation that your degree has been awarded.
- The fourth option of the Certificate of Enrolment request menu is a letter that confirms your degree has been awarded.
- Both of these will be sent to your Carleton email address within 24 hours.
- What if I have a balance owing on my student account?

- All graduation documentation will be withheld including your diploma, transcripts, and letters of confirmation certifying your graduation. The Student Accounts office offers several payment methods and are available at student.accounts@carleton.ca or call 613-520-3626.
- Unclaimed diplomas will be destroyed after two years, including those returned by mail or held due to a financial hold. After this period a student may request a replacement diploma instead.
Display Diploma
- What is a display diploma?

- How much does a display diploma cost?

Current pricing is $124.00 effective May 1, 2020. This price includes HST and covers all handling and mailing charges. Delivery to an address outside of Canada must be arranged and paid for by the requester.
Payment can be made Visa, or MasterCard (HST #11883 8937 RT0001). Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery.

Replacement Diploma
Due to the current public health crisis, the option to request a Replacement Diploma is currently unavailable.
- How do I order a replacement diploma?
- If your diploma has been lost or damaged, or if your name has been changed under the regulations for the change of name process, you may purchase an official replacement diploma.
- To request a Replacement Diploma, complete the online order form (currently unavailable), and ensure all supporting documentation accompanies your request.
- For lost or destroyed diplomas you must submit a “Statutory Declaration Form” (see the “Downloads” section at the bottom of this page) to the Registrar’s Office signed and sealed by a Notary Public, legally swearing the original diploma has been lost or destroyed.
- A Notary Public is a public official who can authenticate documents with a notarial seal. Most lawyers are also Notaries. A Notary Public is not equivalent to a Guarantor. Please contact a local law office.
- Return of the original diploma is required if the replacement is due to damage or an official name change.
- If the original lost diploma is found at any time the replacement diploma must be returned to the Registrar’s Office for cancellation.
- What are the associated fees for a replacement diploma?

- The current fee for a replacement diploma as of May 1, 2020 is $87.00.
- This price includes HST and covers handling and mailing charges.
- Delivery to an address outside of Canada must be arranged and paid for by the requester.
- Payment can be made by Visa, or MasterCard (HST #11883 8937 RT0001).
- When can I expect my replacement diploma?

Processing typically takes 2 weeks (Due to the current public health crisis, current normal processing time is 3-4 weeks). During peak Convocation seasons please allow 4 weeks for processing. Peak Convocation seasons are:
- Mid-May to the end of June
- Mid-October to the end of November
- Mid-January to the end of February
